SYSTEM IDENTIFICATION OF A PERMANENT MAGNET DC MOTOR


Individual Project Requirements:
To create a model with a voltage input and outputs of a) current, position and velocity b) position and velocity for a permanent magnet DC motor using the System Identification Toolbox and then verify it using step pulse and triangle signals.
Parts used:

Hook-up wires.
Procedure:
First, DC motor state-space model was derived for part a) and b).
State-space model for part a):
State-space model for part b):
Then the white noise signal was sent to motor driver and output of current, position and velocity values measured. Then the data was imported to System Identification Toolbox and state-space model extracted.
